THE BUSY BECKETT…

Your favourite band have been working our little socks off this month; a great gig, three more gigs booked, studio work, and some management interest and possible TV that we can't talk about at the moment. Read on…

LAST GIG
: The Half Moon, Putney : Wed Feb 6 2002

What a great night out! Our first headline gig of the new year was a great success on every level. The performances just keep getting better, the onstage confidence grows further and the audience reactions get bigger.

You guys did us proud by turning out in force even though it was a mid-weeker. There were almost 80 of you there and the venue was so impressed with us and with you that they asked us back on the same night. Thanks to Carrie, Georgia and Doonie at the Half Moon, to the Charlatanesque Soul Slider who put on a great support show, to Anna who once again introduced some new ears to The Beckett and to Anthony who's doing a sterling job as our regular roadie.

FOR YOUR DIARIES

FULHAM GIG
: The Kings Head, Fulham : Wed Mar 27 2002

Nine months after we played our first public gig there, The Beckett return to The Kings Head in Fulham to headline the famous Wednesday night spot. The beer will be cold, the music loud and the cameras rolling so come down to Fulham and give yourselves a midweek break.

CAMDEN GIG
: The Dublin Castle, Camden : Sun Apr 28 2002

Steeped in musical history and presenting some of the finest signed and unsigned bands in the country, The Dublin Castle is one of a handful of venues where it's reckoned you're guaranteed to hear the hottest new musical property. You already know we fall into that category so come along for the Guinness and the craic.

PUTNEY GIG
: The Half Moon, Putney : Thu May 30 2002

After rocking their venue earlier this month, those nice people at the Half Moon asked us back again and we just didn't have the heart to turn them down. If the last gig was anything to go by, it should be a great night. Come down early and give some support to our two support bands.

As always, further details and maps to the venues can be found on our website www.thebeckett.co.uk/gigs.

CD'S FOR SALE
: The Moat Session : Get it while you can!

There are still a few copies of The Beckett's second CD, The Moat Session available for the paltry price of £4. Remember, Jarvis Cocker owns a copy of this CD! We'll be selling them at the gig, or you can email us and we'll give you details of where to send your cheques. We can only accept Sterling or Alcohol, sorry, no Euros.

NEW CD
: anticipated release: early march 2002

We've been in the studio this month, working hard to produce the demo that will get us signed. The recording and production is complete and we're putting the finishing touches to the artwork. It should be printed and pressed and ready to go in the next fortnight.

Don't forget - the next date for your diaries is the Kings Head gig in Fulham at the end of March. Look forward to seeing you there.

The Beckett are David Prestwich, Emlyn Hall, George Georgiou, Mark Brimson and Mark Wardle. This has been a Sunday Session Production.
